Tips for Beautiful Skin
01 February 2021
We all want beautiful skin. It is the first thing people notice about us when we walk into a room. You can’t leave beautiful skin to chance. To keep your skin smooth and glowing, there are things that you can do on a daily, weekly or even monthly basis. Try one or all 18 tips for beautiful skin:
Use a Gentle Facial Cleanser Once a Day. Unless you have oily skin, you only need to use a cleanser before bed. Use mild cleanser and cleanse the skin for a full minute.
What About Oily Skin? If you have oily skin, cleanse your skin in the morning and before bed with a foaming cleanser.
Stop Scrubbing. Harsh scrubbing or over-exfoliating leads to increased inflammation, causing your skin to break out and look puffy and red.
Stay Hydrated. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily, some research suggests a gallon daily, to make sure your skin stays soft and supple.
Don’t Forget the Sunscreen. Apply sunscreen before leaving your house and reapply often during the day. Use SPF 30 or greater and use mineral powder for extra protection.
Leave Blemishes ALONE! Your blemishes will not go away and additional irritation may lead to more redness, swelling and possible scarring.
Include a Retinoid into your Nightly Regimen Retinoids help to boost collagen, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration.
Make Sure to Eat Foods High in Antioxidants. Foods like salmon, berries, and nuts are full of antioxidants which help decrease inflammation.
Exercise Regularly. Exercising helps your body stay in shape and your skin looking beautiful. Sweating helps to get the blood circulating and accelerates the cleansing process of your entire body.
Get Plenty of Sleep. Stop undereye circles and bags by making sure you get a full 8 hours of sleep each night. Try relaxation methods at night to help you sleep better.
Add Exfoliation to Your Routine. Exfoliation removes buildup of dead skin cells, giving skin a healthy glow.
Reduce Stress. Yoga, meditation or just a ten-minute break will help to reduce stress. Less stress means less breakouts!
Stay Away from Sugar. A low-sugar diet helps to keep your insulin levels steady, preserving collagen in the skin and reducing breakouts. Go Organic. Organic foods do not have the toxins that are found in non-organic foods. Toxins cause premature aging.
Moisturize. Drinking water hydrates the skin and moisturizers help keep that water where it is needed by strengthening the barrier function of the skin.
Quit Smoking. Chemicals in tobacco smoke cause skin discoloration, premature wrinkles and sagging.
Don’t Go to Bed with Your Makeup. Cleanse your skin before bed with warm water and a cleanser appropriate for your skin type
Start Early. Don’t wait until you have wrinkles or blemishes before deciding to take care of your skin. Preventive care is best.
