Ultherapy

If you’re wondering why more and more people are talking about Ultherapy in Las Vegas, NV, there’s a very good reason. Ultherapy is the first and only FDA-cleared procedure to lift and tighten the loose skin of the face and neck naturally without surgery. There are no incisions, stitches, or general anesthetic to worry about when it comes to dealing with sagging skin.

What is Ultherapy?

Ultherapy is a skin tightening treatment now available near you, which is also known as micro-focused ultrasound. By focusing on precise areas and layers of tissue, it can safely cause tiny pockets of heat damage through ultrasound bursts without causing any harm to your skin. The Ultherapy facelift is one of the more evidence-based treatments too, with over 50 scientific papers published as of 2022.

How Does Ultherapy Work?

Ultherapy uses a smooth applicator placed on the skin to deliver bursts of ultrasound energy to the tissues below the skin using ultrasound for visualization. The energy stimulates production of new collagen, which lifts and tightens the skin over time. Ultherapy differs from the lasers in its ability to treat deep layers below the skin. It can reach the same tissue layers lifted during the surgical facelift to produce the ultimate non-surgical lift. Ultherapy also provides a short-term tightening effect, causing the muscles to contract, and can reduce the skin’s rate of water loss in the long-term.

Who is a Candidate for Ultherapy?

If you want a non-invasive alternative to surgery, with none of the risks and inconvenience involved, Ultherapy may be for you.

A good candidate for Ultherapy has mild to moderate skin laxity on his or her face and neck, which may look like lowered eyebrows, sagging eyelid skin, appearance of jowls, loose skin under the chin and on the neck.

While patients with advanced tissue laxity may benefit from a facelift, Ultherapy is a good alternative for those patients who want to get some tightening and lifting, but are not ready for surgery, either mentally, physically or financially.

It is also a good option for patients in their 20s or 30s who want to stay ahead of the aging process and prevent loss of collagen. Ultherapy is also used to maintain results of a surgical facelift. For these reasons, you can use Ultherapy to delay or avoid future invasive procedures, or to “clean up” milder skin aging.

Ultherapy Treatment

An Ultherapy treatment lasts 45-60 minutes, and is performed much like an ultrasound examination. Your clinician will apply an ultrasound gel to your skin, which is treated in a series of parallel lines. They then pass over these lines three times at two different depths. The Ultherapy device is commonly set at depths of two and 3.5 millimeters, or 8-15% of an inch. Shallow depths target the collagen and elastin responsible for keeping your skin strong and smooth; treating the deeper layers will also have a tightening effect on the muscles.

One of the best things about the Ultherapy facelift is that it causes no discomfort. It only has a slight warming effect, which you may not even notice.

Recovery for Ultherapy

There is no downtime after Ultherapy treatment and patients may return to their normal activities. Immediately after Ultherapy treatment patients may observe a lifting and tightening of the skin, which goes away after a few days. The long-term results due to increased collagen production build over 2-3 months and may continue for up to 1 year after the procedure. As a non-invasive treatment, you can use Ultherapy every year or two for maintenance.
